Rachael Daly, DVM

Dr. Rachael Daly has been an Emergency and Critical Care Intern at Tufts VETS since June of 2008. Dr. Daly's professional interests include wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, emergency medicine and surgery, in addition to exotics medicine and surgery.
Originally from South Bend, Indiana, Dr. Daly spent the second half of her life living on the South Shore of Massachusetts. In 1996 she obtained a Bachelors Degree in Biology (with specialization in Marine Science) from Suffolk University in Boston, MA and upon graduating Dr. Daly actively worked on the Zebrafish Genome Project at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research in Cambridge, MA. She continued on to Graduate School earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She is currently of the Tufts VETS Emergency/Critical Care Intern Class of 2009, and has completed externship training at the New England Aquarium in Boston, MA, the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, CA, and at the Marathon Veterinary Hospital in Marathon, FL.
When not at the hospital, Dr. Daly can be found spending time with Emma (a mini Rottweiler Cross) in addition to her three cats, Apollo, Toony and Zelda all of which are rescued animals. Her personal interests include photography, writing and conservation of endangered species. Dr. Daly is also SSI (Scuba Schools International) certified as an open water diver.
