Dr. Armelle de la ForcadeHospital director, Dr. Armelle de Laforcade graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1993. She attended Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. From 1997-1998, Dr. de Laforcade completed an internship in medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York and went on to complete a three year residency in emergency and critical care at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.

Along with her duties as hospital director, Dr. de Laforcade is assistant professor at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. A member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, Dr. de Laforcade is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.

Dr. de Laforcade has published numerous articles in national and international veterinary journals, including the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery and the Journal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. An expert in veterinary emergency and critical care, Dr. de Laforcade has lectured at conferences and symposiums in the United States and throughout the world.

During her leisure time, Dr. de Laforcade enjoys gardening, cooking and sailing. She has a golden retriever named Mayday and 2 Pekin ducks that she rescued after they were hit by a car.
